Aufgabe | Ich muss in Englisch einen Cartoon analysieren. Bin leider nicht wirklich gut in Englisch. Kann vielleicht jemand mal über meinen Text lesen und korriegieren? (ist noch nicht ganz fertig) |
The cartoon published in a news paper deals with a very thinly lion who mirror the British King and the decline of the British Empire.
At first sight the cartoon is desperate, because the lion is very thin and breached and the sun setting down.
The first impression of the cartoon is confused, because normally the lion symbolize power and is not so weak.
In the foreground you can see the lion who goes to the sun. You can see the bones and ribs of the lion an on his flank is got an bandage. The tail is connected. Around his head and his body fly flies.
He wears an crown and his head is down.
In the background you can see the setting sun. The rays of the sun mirror the flag of the junion jack.
The cartoon expresses the situation of the British Empire. The lion represent the King of the British Empire. Normally, he is strong and not ruled the Empire. But the British Empire was the largest in world history in the nineteenth century and the king travel around the world. He had much to do. This weaked him.
“The sun never sets on the British Empire”. This phrase shows that the British Empire was the world’s foremost global power. In the cartoon the sun setting. The sun symbolize thus the British Empire who is setting down.

The cartoon shows clearly the situation of the British Empire. The British Empire was the largest and most powerful empire at that time. But just because the king had so much to do and traveling so much around the world, the country was nearing collapse. The message of the cartoonist's is that even such a strong Empire may be weak.
In my opinion of view the cartoon is exaggerates a lot.The cartoonist has depicted the situation of England exaggerated.
He probably wanted to make people afraid.
The country had been weakened, perhaps for a while. But it exists today and has not yet gone under. This shows once again that the cartoonist has exaggerated.

Hey, stimmt, das waren auch noch gute Anmerkungen. Ich war leider zu dem zeitpunkt sehr in Eile, da habe ich mich auf das gröbste beschränkt.
